Planning Meeting #2 Notes – 02/05/2024

We had another great meeting last night!  Our Zoom call worked a lot better once Randy Baker helped Laura fix the blurred background…thanks, Randy.  In-person attendees were: Gary Schuessler, Alan Bisher, Steve Dubbs, Bryan Johnson, Kelly Holloway, Darla Luhring, David Huber, Lizz Seesing and me. Zoom attendees were: Randy Baker, Kim Eaker Brazil and Susan Richards Barnes.

Planning Notes:

*If you or someone you know has moved or updated information since the last reunion, please let Laura Dillman Bennett or Kim Eaker Brazil know.

*Kim has been sending out test emails the last few weeks to see if the information we have from 2019 is still good.  If you haven’t heard from her please reach out to lbbennett@yahoo.com or kab_4_3@yahoo.com.  Laura will upload the master spreadsheet to Dropbox so Kim has access to make updates.

Friday, July 12, 2024:

*The Booster Club golf tournament will Friday during the day. Allen Toole will be heading this up. We will see if Allen can attend our next meeting to give us more information on registration.

*Friday evening we will gather at The Library in downtown Cape beginning at 6:00 (doors open at 4:00 if you want to start earlier). They will have food available to order and cash bar. Alan Bisher and Gary Schuessler have scheduled a band, formerly known as The Switch (Powderly twins, Marty Fowler and Darius Seabaugh), to play Friday night.

Saturday, July 13, 2024:

*Susan Richards Barnes is setting up a winery tour for Friday late morning/afternoon.  If you are interested in joining this let her know – justsusan13@hotmail.com.

Saturday, July 13, 2024:

*Kelly Holloway gave an update on the venue/caterer/hotel:  The Buckner-Ragsdale building is being renovated and we will have our Saturday night gathering (usually starting about 5:30 p.m.) in the lower level, called “The Cellar.”  She is going to schedule a walk-through so some of us can check out the area to decide what kind of decorations we want.  The house caterer is Top of the Marq so Kelly is working with them to get pricing for heavy appetizers and a cash bar.  We discussed appetizers vs. a sit-down dinner and decided appetizers will be less expensive and give us more freedom to mingle with everyone, where a dinner would encourage everyone to sit at specific tables for most of the night.  The Courtyard by Marriott on Broadway is going to reserve a block of rooms to provide a discount for booking.  As soon as those details are available they will be shared here.

Next meeting: Monday, February 26, 2024 at 5:30 at Advanced Pest Control, 530 County Road 317, Cape Girardeau, MO. We will also set up a Zoom meeting and post the link on this Facebook page.
